Gate valve

Gate valves are mainly valves that use gate plates as opening and closing components and move vertically along the axis of the valve seat to achieve opening and closing actions. The main advantages of gate valves are smooth flow channels, low fluid resistance, and low opening and closing torque; The main disadvantages are that the sealing surface is prone to scratches, the opening and closing time is long, and the body shape and weight are large. The characteristic of a rising stem gate valve is that the valve stem drives the gate to rise and fall together, and the transmission thread on the valve stem is exposed outside the valve body. Therefore, the opening and closing position of the valve can be intuitively determined based on the direction and position of the valve stem movement, and the transmission thread is easy to lubricate and not corroded by fluids, but it requires a large installation space. On the contrary, the transmission thread of the concealed stem gate valve is located inside the valve body, and during the opening and closing process, the valve stem only rotates without moving (the gate moves up and down inside the valve body). Therefore, when the valve is opened, the height dimension of the valve is small, requiring only a small installation space. Hidden stem gate valves are usually equipped with switch position indicators above the valve cover, which are suitable for environments with small spaces and high dust content such as ships and pipe trenches.
