Wedge Gate Valve

Wedge gate valve refers to a gate valve whose gate plate (opening and closing member, also known as valve disc) is a wedge-shaped inclined plate. From the force analysis of the wedge-shaped gate plate, it can be seen that the downward thrust of the valve stem decomposes into positive pressure on the sealing surface of the valve seat. The sealing surfaces on both sides of the wedge-shaped gate plate are respectively sealed with the valve seats on both sides. The inverted T-shaped groove of the gate plate and the valve stem are flexibly connected, which can compensate for the errors caused by processing and better fit the sealing surface of the gate plate and the sealing surface of the valve seat, completing the sealing. The wedge-shaped gate leaves the valve seat at the moment of opening, reducing wear on the sealing surface with the valve seat. The sealing surface of a wedge gate valve is generally welded with high hardness materials such as cobalt based alloys and hard alloys to improve its high-temperature performance, fatigue resistance, corrosion resistance, and sealing surface hardness.
